Cyber-Woman

Cyber-Woman is an augmented reality zine I created for my Master’s thesis project at NYU Tandon, over the course of a year. Using AR, collage, warped 3D scans, alongside a collection of essays, it asks women to question the merits of remote work technology.

Cyber-Woman was created over the course of a year. This includes research, scoping, ideation, prototyping and multiple rounds of feedback. The zine itself was designed using InDesign, the collage was created in Photoshop, the AR was created in SparkAR, and I used an app called Polycam to create the 3D scans.

Below, I’ve attached a video showing a brief overview of the project, flipping through the pages of the zine and explaining what they’re about, and showing the various AR components.

If you would like to print out the zine, please use this link. I would strongly recommend you print the zine if you’re able to, as it enhances the experience! Be sure to print it double-sided, and hit the print setting that says “flip on short edge.” Once all the pages print, fold the zine in half and enjoy!

If you can’t print the zine right now, or you don’t have access to a printer - no worries! Check out the version below, which is suitable for online viewing.
